• Welcome to Oak Mountain

We hope you'll join us Sunday mornings at 8:15 am or 10:45 am for worship. Our worship style is contemporary, with a programming balance of praise songs and traditional hymns of the Church. Our message each week presents the gospel of grace as it relates to our salvation and to our relationships with God and each other. Sunday School classes meet each week at 9:30 am.

My Battle for the Heart Experience by Teresa Whittle

My name is Teresa Whittle and I have been married to Whit Whittle for almost 24 years. We have three children, Josh (age 20), Jordan (age 18) and Lauren (age 15). Whit went  to the Battle for Men's Hearts two years ago. He truly had no idea what he was walking into, and he might not have gone had he had any idea of the weekend and what was to follow!

When he returned from his retreat, he asked me if I had any regrets from the past. I immediately remembered that 15 years ago, we had been talking and I had asked him if we could pray in bed at night. He said yes but we never did. I hadn’t thought about that conversation in years as I had given up on it happening. We were able to talk through it and began praying at night. Not every night…but many nights! Whit has become the spiritual leader in our marriage that I had been praying for. His event was truly life changing. And his change made me want more too!

Fast forward to my Battle for Women's Hearts weekend (one year ago). Upon returning home, Whit and I had one of the best conversations in our marriage. I was able to sit down and just tell him about the desires of my heart. It was literally a 3 hour, deep conversation. We have had some major events in the life of our family over the past two years and the Battle for the Heart process has helped us both look more at the desires of the heart than the action itself. It has also helped us to love our children well.

Wow. I only wish we had done this 20 years ago. I know I have missed out on so much. But the blessings have been abundant! Whit is planning on taking another group through the Battle for Men's Hearts process, and I am still in the process of my first round. We definitely want to pursue the  marriage program too. I can see growth in so many areas in my life, and I am very thankful for what God is showing me through Battle for the Heart.

I highly recommend this to everyone at OMPC. You'll be so blessed by it.
