Day 7 - Kingdom Prayers

Day 7

Lord, teach us to WALTZ more effectively with You.  May You grant us the grace to Repent in those areas of life that are displeasing to You.  Use Your Word to lead us to confess our sin…those things we do that we ought not to do, and those things we leave undone that we ought to have done.  Lord, enable us to continually Believe the Gospel.  Enable us to continually preach the Gospel to ourselves so that we AFFIRM our justified standing and adopted status and Believe that we are deeply and eternally loved, accepted and delighted in by You only by the virtue of the Righteousness that is ours in Christ.  Then, enable us to APPROPRIATE the supernatural, transforming power of the cross at our place of repentance and trust that You will change us so that we would long to follow You in new obedience.  Finally, Father, enable us to Fight the good Fight of Faith.  Empower us and motivate us to engage in the spiritual disciplines of Scripture Reading, Scripture Memory, Prayer, Worship, Fellowship, Generosity, Mission and Service.  Enable and empower us to fight against sin and fight for righteousness with all our hearts.  Enable us to love You with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.  And as we grow in grace, enable us to get out of the “Hot Tub” and truly begin to burn with a passion for Your Glory alone!

Day 7 – A Prayer of Listening

"Jesus said, 'I am the Good Shepherd…The sheep hear His voice, and He calls His own sheep by name, and leads them out…and the sheep follow Him because they know His voice…'” John 10:11; 3-4

Heavenly Father, teach me to recognize Your voice, to hear it and listen. Enable me to hear your voice as one of Your children, help me to hear Your voice when You are speaking to me, help me to hear Your voice when You are guiding me, giving me instruction or just wanting to let me know You love me. Enable me Lord to “be still and know I am God”, to “give attention to My words”, to “incline my ear to Your sayings.” Please dear lord, help me to shut out the noise and clutter around me and to hear You and You alone.

We pray too for our strategic global church planting partnerships – TOKYO, LONDON, BANGALORE, TORONTO.   Grace Tokyo/Pastor Fukuda (and their 4 church plants!), New City Fellowship/Bangalore, India and their team (Jonathan & John), Inspire London/Pastors Mark Jackson & Pete Nicholas, and Grace City Network, Toronto/Connan & Brenda Kublick.

Westminster School

Father, we are grateful for the impact that Westminster has in the lives of so many families and children. We pray for the teachers and staff that they would model a grace filled life to these children that they might grow and mature to become men and women who embrace and live out their faith wherever you call them in the world.

Teach us to pray, to sing, to listen, to learn, to love as You desire.  Lead us in showing Your grace to others as we lead, sing, work for Your glory.  Grant us Your wisdom in working with others, training and equipping those in our midst to be used of You, and sharing Your love with all those around us.  Show us divine appointments to assimilate others into Your kingdom, Your ministry, Your church, for Your glory alone.

God, you long for us to ask. You want us to pray. Create praying hearts within us. May our Life Groups be a place where the habit and heart of prayer is woven into our lives. And open our eyes to great kingdom needs around us, so that our prayers reach far and bring You close to the broken, needy, hurting places of our world.

Today, help me to seek Jesus whenever and wherever there is weariness. Help me to rest on, and share, this promise: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30, ESV).

God we pray for our children’s future. We pray that you would guide and direct their steps as they grow in wisdom and stature. We pray that as they develop their gifts an abilities, that they would point others to you, their creator and King. God we pray that our children would rely on you for their daily assurance and strength, and that as they grow they would seek true wisdom from you and trust in your will for their life.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.” - Jeremiah 29:11

Heavenly Father we pray for protection for our students today. Everyday brings new opportunities for temptation and sin. Every step they take is a step into the presence of temptation. There are few moments in their young lives that is not a moment of temptation—a moment when unbelief and disobedience is not a possibility. We pray today that temptation will not over take them and lead them to sin. Deliver them from the evil that wants to lead them in temptation and the evil that could come from falling into temptation. There are endless choices between belief and unbelief, obedience and disobedience. O mighty God, forbid that they would yield. Hold them back from stepping inside the temptation. If they fall Father, please demonstrate your Fathers heart and your desire to restore your relationship with them. Please place people in their lives that would encourage them to flee from temptation and pursue your heart. May they also be that person who would encourage others in the same way.

Blessed God: Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your word – Psalm 110:17. Amen.
