On Friday night, January 24, Oak Mountain played host to Jerram Barrs and others from Covenant Seminary for a community event entitled, “Echoes of Eden.” Mr. Barrs, who has written a book with the same name, spent an hour taking more than 150 attendees through sections of his book, and then opened the floor to questions and discussion about culture, art, theology and grace.
Below are a few highlights from his presentation:
"The characteristic common to God and man is apparently that: the desire and the ability to create things."
"All great art is true."
“Great art sings echoes of eden. Beauty and truth come from God Himself...”
"Beauty through story, music or images are echoes of Eden. God uses the arts to draw people to Himself."
