• Welcome to Oak Mountain

We hope you'll join us Sunday mornings at 8:15 am or 10:45 am for worship. Our worship style is contemporary, with a programming balance of praise songs and traditional hymns of the Church. Our message each week presents the gospel of grace as it relates to our salvation and to our relationships with God and each other. Sunday School classes meet each week at 9:30 am.

Showing Grace as a Way of Life: May

Including friends from our natural spheres of life in Christian community is our final step in the Showing Grace as a Way of Life journey.

Our Showing Grace as a Way of Life emphasis reframes what it’s like to live missionally in your current life calling!

Showing Grace in a natural sphere of life where you pursue people’s hearts and unfold the gospel story is a process you cannot put on a calendar timeline. So, whether your friend has believed the gospel or is in the process, the final dynamic we including our friends who are in our Christian community. You have embodied the gospel to them! Engaging your friend with others who believe allows them to see the gospel embodied in community with others.

Naturally, you might think of a host of reasons this does not make sense for your friend. So, you need to assess creatively what would be a realistic “step in” for your friend.

Here are eight ways to include your friend in Christian community. These suggestions offer a relational process may end in bringing them to OMPC but doesn’t start there. You will know best where to start and at what pace to continue.

  1. Engage your friend with other believing friends in your natural sphere of life. Invite believers and your friend for a monthly breakfast, lunch, after work, or a fun activity you all enjoy to build relationships further.
  2. Initiate a weekly venue that allows your friend along with other believers to engage a topic pertinent to everyone–relationships, parenting, vocation, a common project.
  3. Host your friend and the believers you are connecting him/her for a meal, cookout, game-night.
  4. If you are serving in the city (Jobs4Life, Urban Avenues, Fairfield tutoring, West end breakfasts), bring your friend with you.
  5. Include your friend to a social gathering of your LIFE! Group.
  6. Invite your friend to a regular LIFE! Group gathering, and follow-up with them individually on how they felt about that experience.
  7. Bring your friend to a special event at OMPC–Children’s events, Bluegrass & BBQ, Christmas worship program or Christmas Eve services, or Field Day.
  8. Bring your friend to a Worship at OMPC–perhaps even your Adult Discipleship class.
