Please pray for our family as David's father continues his 17th month battle with pancreatic cancer. His stepmom was admitted to hospital today for pneumonia. It's a difficult situation with step parents, children and cultural barriers. I worry for Davids health and our family as he is called to travel each week and continues to try to work and provide for us.

Jenny Davis

Please be in prayer for Kelly Cash. She is a 33 year old young lady that has grown up in the Oak Mountain community. She was born with a heart defect. She is now at the point of needing a heart transplant. She has been at UAB waiting most of 2016. Recent complications have left her very weak and in even more need of a new heart. Specifically please pray that she can tolerate taking her oral medication, that her constant battle with fluid retention/fluid restriction would improve, that she would be able to sleep through the night and for the perfect heart in God's perfect timing. Please also pray for her parents, Leslie and Gene as they walk this journey with her.

Beloved Prayer Warriors

There are two pressing pieces of communication this morning.

FIRSTLY, Riley has scans this week. The first appointment is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2. to begin scans. At 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3 Riley has more scans and then a long day of clinic.

We ask that you please intercede both for good results and also for grace and stamina as he and Jen endure these long hours.

Over and over we heard the refrain , “There are no words” to express your sympathy in the overwhelming loss we have experienced.

By the same token, words cannot begin to express our gratitude for the love you have shown us.

Jesus’ words have truly been fulfilled in you:

John 13:34-35 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

34 “…A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

You have shown yourselves to be His disciples in the multiple expressions of love and compassion to us… your presence, your calls, cards, gifts, support, prayers, food, and service. We have seen the body of Christ be immeasurably creative in ministering to our family.

Lines from a Michael Card Song “Distressing Disguise” come to mind:

“Every time a faithful servant serves A brother that's in need What happens at that moment is a miracle indeed As they look to one another in an instant it is clear Only Jesus is visible, for they've both disappeared”

The Beauty that is Christ has been magnificently displayed by you not only during this week but through these long months as well.
