My niece, Laura Grace (14) was injured playing volleyball yesterday. She was in a lesson and a 6'3" Ole Miss player hit her from 2 feet out. Laura Grace didn't see or have time to block. She has a whiplash and concussion. She is at home resting but spent the evening in ER. Doctor said she can't use cell phone, watch TV or use computer. Has to rest brain. She is a sweet Christian and very sensitive. Thank you for your prayers for her. Of course this is finals week, but that won't be taking place, I would think and hope.

Update on my brother. He has 2 blockages in his brain that have been causing the mini strokes. He's been referred to a vascular neurologist at UVA. He also has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. Also battling shingles right now but the pain with them is lessening so he's been able to go back to work. Thank you so very much for praying for him! I appreciate everyone who has taken time to intercede!!

Tribute for Margaret Rose Ward

Margaret Ward was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Conrad and Lena Lauck on January 16, 1923. She died on April 30, 2015, and was received into the arms of the Savior she had served all of her life. She came to faith in Christ and was baptized at Bethany Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. She was married to Herbert D. Ward, Sr., on April 13, 1945. They served together as joint heirs of the grace of life for over 65 years.

Marge had a curious mind and loved to learn, studying at the University of Missouri at St. Louis. She worked faithfully for 30 years with the Federal Civil Service at the United States Army Troop Support Command (TROSCOM) in St. Louis, Missouri, retiring as a GS-12. She loved her country and always encouraged others to pray for our service men and women.

Marge was active in serving in the PTA, and as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout District Supervisor. She had a generous spirit, a love of hospitality, and a passion for social justice. Since her call to faith in Christ, she served the Lord in a variety of ways including as a teacher in Sunday School, VBS, and as a leader in Children’s Church. She loved to study the Bible through Precept Ministry Studies, and to share her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ with others.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Tanya Black & her husband Hollis Mansfield Black, III, their daughter Aubretia and her husband, Dr. Neil Meadows, and their children Will, Clarissa, Ansley, and Ethan; as well as by her son Herb, Jr. and his wife Kathleen, and their children Laura, and David, and his wife Katharine. They are all, by God’s grace, walking with the Lord.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 5, at Heritage Funeral Home, 3239 Battlefield Parkway, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm., and on Wednesday morning, May 6 at 10:00 Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church, 90 Nick-A-Jack Lane, Flintstone, GA, with the Memorial service to follow at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in her name to Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church.
