Please be in prayer for Benjamin Jones, 8 year old son of Andy and Amanda Jones. He was admitted to children's ICU Wednesday for elevated heart rate and blood pressure and continual vomiting. Doctors are running tests but have been unable to diagnose him. They are awaiting further test results sent out of state. Pray that symptoms would subside and that test results would come quickly to aid diagnosis and treatment.

Anora Lesa Leonard Woodby, PhD, MPH, of Birmingham, Alabama went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Easter Sunday morning, April 5, 2015 where she was surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on September 17, 1958. She is survived by her husband, Ken Woodby (married on October 9, 1987); her son, Tyler Woodby; and her brother, David Leonard of Kingsport, Tennessee. Lesa graduated with a PhD (1996) and MSPH (1990) degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and BS (1980) and MPH (1987) degrees from East Tennessee State University. She served for many years as an Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology and Palliative Care for the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her major research interests were in the areas of aging, bereavement, palliative care, and tobacco control. Lesa always felt the call from God to serve others, so she aspired to be a peacemaker and a networker on behalf of those needing care. She demonstrated her gentle and bountiful love for others by her many professional and personal involvements such as her endeavors to improve end of life care at VA Medical Centers (2003-2013) and her teaching role in the local Jobs for Life Outreach or her implementation of the Caring for Aging Loved Ones Ministry through Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church (OMPC), where she was a longtime member. Memorial contributions may be made out to OMPC. Please put Mercy Ministry in the memo line. Many thanks to those who ministered so graciously to Lesa and her family. Memorial Service will be conducted this Saturday at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church.

Davis has a tumor in his face (called a Desmoid tumor); the little fellow has already endured so much, having gone through surgery a couple of years ago to remove the original tumor. What we see in the picture below is Davis with a tumor that has represented and growing...rapidly. And is quite painful.

Please be in prayer for those afflicted with addiction and their families. Addiction is a major problem in our area. Those who are related to an addict suffer with little to no support. The emotional roller coaster caused by addicts wears on relatives and we run out of words to pray. An addict will not seek recovery and do well in recovery when forced to go. The addict must decide for themselves they want help and dedicate themselves to recovery. Please, pray now for Supernatural healing and for God to move in addicts lives. Families who are suffering can no longer carry the burden alone.
