Please pray for the salvation of my niece's husband. David is from the Czech Republic and totally closed to Christianity. Please pray the scales will fall from his eyes; that he will see the light of Jesus; that he will come to understand that God can heal all the wounds from growing up in a communist country. I have talked with him about Jesus, but his response was "I okay Aunt Janie. I not need this." I gave him a Bible several years ago in the Czech translation.

I am very burdened for him, how this is affecting Meredith and his 3 beautiful boys. Thank you.

Linda Barrett

My mother is being put on hospice today (January 23). Her resperation is lower, and she's been on oxygen since her hospitalization last year. She is running a fever, and the staff is pretty sure she has pneumonia. We are getting an x-ray to make sure.

Be in prayer for her and our family as we tackle this leg of the journey. She has been surprisingly resiliant over the years, and who knows what her body will do. We look to the Lord, as always, to supply our lack. And we have plenty of lack--but HE has plenty of supply...bless the name of the Lord! He is mighty to save and is always present in our midst, a mighty warrior! King of kings, Lord of Lords!

In Christ alone, Linda

UPDATE: I am enjoying being back at home. I am thankful for my wonderful husband and his willingness to serve me so graciously. I am appreciative of the meals and visits from our family here at OMPC. I would appreciate your continued prayers for my recovery. I continue to have pain in my left knee and wrist. I hope to be allowed some weight bearing for my tibia fractures on my next doctors appt (2/3).

We have just come from the urologist's office, where Bob found out he has several kidney stones, including two rather large ones. He has to be off his daily baby aspirin regimen for a week before the stones can be broken up. Please pray that in the meantime he doesn't end up in the emergency room; his blood pressure dropped way down this morning after he took pain medicine. Pray that neither pain nor infection will cause trouble before the kidney stone procedure next Tuesday.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers.

A sweet Christian friend of mine, Leeann Hodges, who goes to Trussville 1st Baptist, needs urgent prayer for her health, wisdom for her doctors, peace for her family and strength for herself. This is the third time since I've known Leeann for the past 6 years or so that she has had breast cancer. She has fought it with radiation and chemo, taken meds, etc. This time it's in the other breast, is triple negative, and the doctors say they're not sure how to treat it. She has a pre-teen daughter, an elementary school daughter and a sweet, supportive Christian husband. She's very special to me and everyone who knows her. I'm thanking you in advance for your fervent prayers.

Thanks so much for praying for John's brother, Archie, who finally came home from the hospital over the weekend. He's recuperating well from his heart attack, the doctors drained more than a quart of fluid off his lungs - he'd had a huge infection. He's walking around and so thankful to be better.
