My mom, Jacque Champion, was admitted to the hospital on Monday. She was feeling better today, though there are still questions to be answered. Please lift up her recovery and her eternal needs.

Please pray for my 90-year-old mom who has lived with us for 4 years. Physically she's about 70 years old her doctor said 2 weeks ago, but her mind is really deteriorating quickly. She's crying more and so afraid of her surroundings. Please pray that she won't be afraid - we claim God's promises about fear daily with her - but she forgets everything very quickly. It breaks our hearts for her - a vibrant Christian all her life whose main passions were her family and music - the piano and singing in groups and the choir.

Praise! Such good news! My mom just had her heart cath and there were no blockages. It looks like she might get to go home soon. Thank you for all of your prayers - it has meant so much to our family.

Please praise God for his healing work in my mom, Jacque Champion. And continue to pray for her continued recovery. Presently she has some issue that has her throwing up just about every time she eats. We went to a gastroenterologist last week and have a ct today as art of follow thru plan. The situation continues to worsen and she is afraid to eat or go out.

Update on Rusty Jacks: Visited with Rusty and Carolyn this evening at UAB. His back surgery went as planned, and he should leave the hospital tomorrow. Their is a brief recovery period for the rest of the week, and hopefully he can return to work next week. The larger issue the reduction of back pain to a level where he can sleep normally and function without pain. Your continued prayers to this end are appreciated. Thanks to all who have lifted them up!

I am wrestling deeply with depression. I can honestly identify with Psalm 88 when the sons of Korah wrote...darkness is my closest friend. I sip on the lamentation Psalms like water on a hot day. Bob's messages I cannot miss - he always brings words of hope when my world seems to get so small. Jason always has music that soothes the ache that seems to never ease up. Although I've prayed many times for the Lord to remove this thorn, I've come to believe He want to walk with me thru the pain and show me grace moment by moment. When you pray I'm sure I'm not the only one. Pray also for those wracked with emotional pain. THANK you for praying...even meaningful sentence prayers.

Following is a letter from Lloyd Kim, coordinator for MTW, requesting specific prayer from all in the PCA and Christians everywhere for those suffering from Ebola in West Africa:

All,

At the urging of our West Africa partners, we are asking the PCA and Christians worldwide to pray for West Africa and ask God to have mercy on the people suffering because of Ebola. Nathaniel, one of our national partners there, says, “Communities are facing terrible suffering in the midst of hopelessness. We believe this is the time for the church to stand with our brothers and sisters to combat fear with tangible compassion, love, and prayerful support. This is the time that global churches can rise and encourage West African churches . . . in such a time as this, do not be silent. We need your prayers, your voice, and your relationship.”

Please share this call to prayer with your supporters, churches, and friends. We are also using the hashtag #PrayForWestAfrica in social media so that we can share hope, prayer requests, and prayers together.

If you would like to see what MTW is doing, how to pray, or read Nathaniel’s letter, go to www.mtw.org/ebola.

Thank you in advance for lifting up our brothers and sisters in West Africa to the Lord of Mercy, Jehovah Rapha, our Healer.

Sincerely,

Lloyd Kim Interim Coordinator
