Summer Discipleship Classes: June 2 - August 11

Young Professionals | Finding Rest in a World you Can’t Control | S-185 | Julie Sparkman & Jennifer Phillips

You have a picture of how life should go…

We all do. The dream job. Great friends. A happy relationship. But more often than not, life doesn’t go according to plan. So we corral and control, determined to attain that picture of the life we have come to believe IS life. Our emotional, spiritual and even physical well being are taken for a crazy ride as our stability becomes dependent on how closely reality matches our picture. But Jesus invites us to a path of rest - one in which we fully own our desires,  yet they don’t overtake or define our lives. Join Julie Sparkman, counselor and author of “Unhitching From the Crazy Train” and Jennifer Phillips, as we explore Jesus’s invitation to rest in a world we can’t control.

Nursery/Preschool Parents | Journey on Generosity | C-241 | Scott Baker & Tom Patton

Join us on a journey of exploration – exploring the myriad of ways that the Father has resourced His people to be a blessing.  Most believers think of generosity as giving from the surplus of our wealth.  Rather, we’ll discuss together the breadth of God’s generosity towards us in every dimension of life and how we are called to steward all of those resources both for our joy and for His honor.

Elementary Parents | Gospel-Centered Marriage: Stories of God’s Grace and Gospel Power | C-243 | Nathan Kirkpatrick, Walter Kearns, & Eric DeVries

This summer ADC will center on stories of God’s Grace in marriages at OMPC and how the power of The Gospel changes and sanctifies us in marriage

ParentU (JrHi & SrHi Parents) | A Walk Through Redemptive History | C-245 | Mark Long, Todd Gothard, & Carl Lund

Many of us know the Old Testament as a series of stories. But we’re uncertain how they all tie together into a cohesive unit. Join us this summer as we journey through redemptive history in order to see how these stories dovetail into one another to form the greatest story ever told. Along the way we’ll consider the implications for our lives as well as the lives of our children.

Great Awakenings | Malachi | S-180 | Bobby Gardner

We don’t know who Malachi was, but he relays some fearful threats and wonderful promises from God to his people. As usual, we will study verse-by-verse to see what God wants us, as his people, to know so that we may grow in His grace.

Biblical Conversations | Judges | C-240 | Hugh Davis, Mike Yates

Join us for a robust study and discussion about Judges.  This book unfolds the story of backsliding and the amazing grace of God.

Next Chapter | Romans Chapters 1 - 8 | C-246 | Bill Rutledge

A study of how God has set our hearts free in Christ

ELECTIVE:

A Missional Community Class | Taking the Gospel Over the Fence | C-244 | Dax Gibson & Brian Phillips

June 2 – July 14

This is a discussion oriented class that will aim at helping us encourage one another in sharing the gospel where we live, work and play.  We'll lean into our inadequacy and God's sufficiency as we read How to Talk About Jesus (by Sam Chan).  We'll pray, strategize and consider what it means to be a missional community inspired by Jesus and his grace.
