Team Greece 2025
Dear Friends,
We are excited to share about an upcoming trip the Lord has led us to plan for Missionary Care through OMPC. During our first Team Meeting, it was evident that the Lord is already at work in our hearts and individual stories, drawing us together for a trip later this Spring. Also in this meeting, our team connected with Philip Kirkland (MTW missionary in Athens, Greece). He shared how challenging missionary life is and, conversely, how significant a visit from trusted friends can be. He said it’s like a spiritual steroid shot.
We have the opportunity to do just that May 9-18. You are invited to join us in encouragement, prayer and/or financial support of our upcoming trip to Athens, Greece. We will be serving alongside MTW missionaries Joy and Philip Kirkland. Philip is a pastor and integral in the church planting effort in developing local leaders. Joy offers trauma care, counseling and training to vulnerable people.
Our primary role will be serving alongside these missionaries who work in non-profit ministries to trafficked victims, homeless, victims of abuse, refugees, people with disabilities and those living beneath the poverty line. We’ll also be serving in Athens Intercultural Church (a church plant within the Greek Evangelical Church). This church is a diverse congregation which unites Greeks, refugees, international students, and immigrants from all over Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Each of us has a specific story of how and why the Lord has called us to serve in Athens, but our main objectives are to provide partnership, encouragement and our presence to our missionary partners.
PRAY:
- For protection physically, spiritually and emotionally as we prepare for and travel to Athens, Greece.
- For the Lord to use our team to encourage the Kirklands and the ministry of Athens Intercultural Church.
- For the expansion of our own Kingdom vision/hearts for the nations as well as for the vulnerable among us.
